Ying - working in a team that has to go to KIX a lot, this will be helpful.
Yang - going to KIX indirectly does net a fair few TPs ...

Of course you can still fly indirectly, just you will have to pay a few extra JPY in airport fees at HND or NRT. In my case it is better to fly to ITM (mostly domestic) so I am pretty pleased about the current deal!

Hopefully, MH has since learned some business lessons, and won't revert to the practices that drove BA, QF and other European airlines out of KUL at that time.

In a word, dumping.

It wasn't very profitable for MH, either. But back then, MH wasn't necessarily required or expected to make a profit.

Spring schedule 2015 I'm given to understand.

What is expected, BA to take over 1 of the 2 MH slots and replace the 380 with a 777?

MH would presumably take the opportunity to relocate its remaining flight to T3 and cut costs by closing its own lounge.

I don't think anyone expects MH to cede a Heathrow slot to a direct competitor?

Who said they would "cede" it?

If they can't fill the seats at a high enough price to make money they can't continue to operate loss making flights. Something will have to change.

Perhaps BA could rent a slot off MH for a portion of $2 million a day. MH to China has been hit hard, I wonder how MH to London is doing?

Indeed, but seems silly to sell a useful asset to a direct competitor and put further pressures on the route!

I'd imagine BA will be very hesitant to start KUL if MH continue to destroy yields on the route.
