Cash out Avios

Can anyone think of a way to get cash from Avios legally? Selling to brokers is NOT legal. Maybe I can send someone Avios If he/she is a few miles short.. Just some suggestions.

Agreed ... they have no value unless you burn them with BA.

It is possible to transfer them to others, but you pay for the privilege IIRC.

You can use avios to buy wine and other products through avios.com that you can then sell.

Avios transfers are not free unless you are BA Gold.

on Ebay there are a number of people who seem to be selling access to their BA accounts and their avios balance

very dodgy dealing in my opinion

Cash out Avios

To be blunt, you could sell a seat on a flight booked with Avios, but it is dodgy. I have, on previous occasions, helped out a fellow FTer, who has subsequently booked a similar flight for me.

Is it legal to resell alcohol without a license?

Ah, it's 27k per person for up to six people. So useful.

Was this hypothetical alcohol purchased in an off license or acquired from an airside lounge?

Hypothetical alcohol purchased with Avios and flogged for cash.

I suspect that flogging alcohol without a license it is actually illegal whereas purchasing tickets with Avios for someone else in exchange for cash is only against BAEC rules.
