LGW New Routes S15

Can't see this posted already...

More Mediterranean destinations than ever before will mark the start of British Airways’ biggest ever summer schedule at Gatwick next year when the airline starts five brand new routes to popular holiday hotspots in Greece, Turkey and Sardinia.

Sun-seekers can fly to Cagliari in Sardinia, Crete and Rhodes in Greece and Bodrum and Dalaman in Turkey from the end of April next year.

Over half a million seats will be available to customers throughout the Summer 2015 season, which will include services to Cagliari three times a week, to Crete four times a week, to Rhodes twice a week, to Bodrum twice a week and Dalaman four times a week.

Colm Lacy, head of commercial Gatwick said: “This is the biggest launch of new routes at Gatwick we’ve had for several years and is brilliant news for families and holiday-makers wanting to get away from it all for that all-important break to relax in the sun.

"We have grown our fleet at Gatwick, which means we have an even bigger choice of destinations and more value for money for summer holiday flights for British Airways customers.”

None of those destinations appeal to me if I have to make the schlep from LHR to LGW.

Interesting. With my TP hat on I notice they are all over 1000miles apart from CAG, so a few more 80 TP CE LGW routes to choose from after RAK and MLA.

I knew RHO was coming as it was in the Greek press a few months back but good to see HER too. ^ Great to see so many new Greek routes by BA.

You can, as long as they don't replace the international routes. I happen to live close to LGW, so having more European routes on BA is great. ^ Especially as this weekend I've ended up on easyJet. Not a bad airline, I just hate to spend money on tickets and not earn miles or TPs.

Now - can we please have a flight to a proper US hub from LGW?

Biggest ever? Really? Really? #marketingnonsense

Not with APD, loss makers, the reason LGW's losses were cut is a focus on sun leisure and cramming more peeps on.

I have a strange feeling of deja vu......

Totally agree and something iv said for a long time !
ORD, DFW, LAX or JFK.
Doesn't really matter but one of these with decent onward connections via AA would be great.
