Should BA purchase NIKI from airberlin?

As per title, do you think BA should purchase NIKI from airberlin?

The reasons I can come up are:
1>, airberlin is in financial difficulties. And to sell its holding in NIKI could guarantee the future of NIKI and reduce airberlin's debt
2>, the purchase of NIKI would give BA a new hub in Vienna, great for Eastern/Southern European expansion.
3>, The purchase of NIKI could save oneworld a real European carrier in case Etihad decides to take airberlin to Skyteam.

IAG/BA has said they were interested in buying more Euopean carrier after Vueling. In today's European market I can not see any potential target rather than NIKI. What do you guys think? Should BA try to establish a hub in Vienna by buying NIKI?

Hahaha. Well hopefully not, even though I like Lufthansa I actually think it's too far gone.

Would such a move also entail the replacement of Willie Walsh by Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton?

So BA would then have Nicci, who is extremely valuable, and NIKI!

I can see why it might make sense for BA if there's any serious threat of AB going to SkyTeam. Would it be rebranded, either into Vueling (will that ever become part of OW?) or into something else?

I think any advances would fall on deaf ears.

No, but they might get Wolfgang Prock-Schauer again

Interesting, but I'm not quite sure if BA is really that interested in the Eastern European market.

As for Niki, wouldn't surprise me one bit if if was bought by Austrian Airlines, just like Lauda's last airline

OK, I have some ideas. instead of using the used names, some new ones here:
1>, BA Deutsche (instead of dba, now BAD)
2>, GO2 (well if they are going to try Go second time maybe they should add 2nd behind GO).

I don't think AB has money to waste to exit oneworld and enter Skyteam. Actually they get the best of both world so why change?

BA could certainly learn from Niki how to organise the overhead bins on an E190 so that rows 1 and 2 actually have some space for bags.

I dont see how 1 and 3 benefit BA / IAG? I dont think BA / IAG is in the business of 'taking one for the team' so unless there's financial sense in it, I don't think 1 or 3 would sway any business case.
