Am I the only British woman who is not enamoured of Mr Cumberbatch? I just can't see the appeal.

My sister's not keen - "he looks like an otter", apparently ...

Someone said he looks like a drawing a somewhat-talented artist tried to make of a handsome face. Eyes too close together, mouth too big, cheekbones overemphasized.

I think for many US ladies, it's the accent. You could take just about any UK guy, clean him up, put him in a tux, and a lot of US women would swoon when he talks.

I have often wondered if ladies from the UK are attracted to US accents in men. I somehow doubt it.

You want to see people who look pretty bad compared to their usual aspect, Google one of those "Celebrities who are ugly without makeup" sites. Check out Mila Kunis. Wow! Whatever she pays her makeup artist, it's not enough.

Interesting comment. As a straight man, I have often wondered why so many of my female friends find him attractive.

To passengers on flights. Does that include ex-passengers?

It's free in lounges too

I have only seen him once in real life; he was stark naked rolling around the stage for 20 minutes at the NT. I don't think he was particularly oddly proportioned...
