Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

Sorry, slightly off topic but does anyone know if you acquire Tesco CC points for one of their loan products?

Mortgages yes, don't think so on a standard loan.

Unless, of course, you get the version of the credit card with a long zero per cent deal and pay for it on plastic!

I just received in today's post:

"Now you can receive an exclusive 250 Clubcard points when you get a quote for car insurance between 22nd August and 28th October 2014"

There's no code, just go online or call them for a quote to get the points

Hi coffeebean09, is there a URL for the offer as I can't see it listed on the website?

Offer says:
"Getting a quote is easy. All you need to do is go online or give us a call before 28th October 2014 to qualify for the 250 clubcard points offer."
also
"applies to new customers and it's not available if you get a quote from any price comparison websites, including Tesco Compare."

small print says points will be added to a future Clubcard statement.

quotes from : tescobank.com/car or ring 0845 3010721

there isn't a code and when I did get a quote on the website it doesn't mention the extra 250 points. I am renewing my car insurance shortly anyway so I was happy enough to get the quote. Hopefully the points will be applied at some point!

These only work, in general, when the person who gets the till spit gets a quote.

I got one of these a while ago which specifically said it only applied to the person issued it. I remember as I had to go into the street to find a car reg to use to get the quote!

Received a Tesco mailing this morning -250 clubcard points and a guaranteed clubcard discount for the car insurance.
No special codes to quote, just make sure you quote your clubcard number.
One per house hold.
Valid until 28th October 2014
Www.tescobank.com/car. Or 0845 301 0721

So exactly the same as coffeebean09

Are there any live Tesco Wine codes? None on the forum seem to be working for me.*

*EDIT: XX4AHK still works.

Just tried the three in the wiki. The first one (XX44M6) is no longer working, but the other two (XX74JR & XX4AHK) are so I have removed the first one from the wiki.

Beware, the two that are working are due to expire on 31 August 2014 - so tomorrow!

I had a till spit in June for home insurance. I recently queried the non appearance of the 250 points and was basically told to wait. Not very impressive!

Has anyone had problems using 3V cards with TopGiftCards? I am regularly getting "REJECTED - The transaction was failed by your 3D-Secure or AVS/CV2 rule-bases". Just occasionally (about 1 in 10 times) it works. Same 3V account; same details etc.

Any ideas?

Yes, it appears they have changed to only allow one card per 24 hours....however it appears to me that there is also some randomness in there! Last week it failed every day and I only got one accepted on Friday. Failed again this morning.....becoming too frustrating and I am now doing the majority through my work scheme Edenred which gives me a 6% discount and I buy an Amazon gift card with the £1.50 left on the card.

Well sorry to hear that you have had the same issue... but glad it's not just me! What's Edenred then?
