Buying a ticket for someone else using my credit card. Can I do this?

I want to buy a return ticket for my parents (as part of an anniversary gift) to the US, and was wondering if it is possible, as I won't be flying with them.

I'm sure I remember somewhere that the credit card used has to be shown on check-in as ID, but neither I, nor my credit card, will be there at check-in.

Is it possible to buy a ticket for someone else using a credit card that the flyer doesn't posess?

Thanks.

Yep - there'll be a checkbox to select this during the booking process at ba.com.

Ah, I have never noticed a checkbox at checkout.

Does it say (something like), the person paying is not travelling on this booking? (just so as I know what to look for).

Thanks.

It will ask you "Is the person paying one of the travellers" or something like that right above the first name of first passenger field.
