Avis buying Budget
Haven't seen anything posted on this, and haven't seen anything official. But my local franchisee (from whom I rent about 60 times a year) told me 2 weeks ago that Avis and Budget were to complete an agreement for Avis to purchase Budget. That completion was imminent 2 weeks ago, so I presume that it is now complete.
Apparently Avis will be the corporate arm of the rental business, while leisure rentals will be directed towards Budget.
Matters not to me, as long as I can still collect BA miles.
