Through bag check on different tickets (Avianca to Copa)
Dear sages of the Avianca forum...
I am flying CUZ-LIM on Avianca, then LIM-PTY on Copa.
I am in paid business on separate tickets. Two hour connection in Lima.
Any insights as to whether I will have a problem checking my bag through?

Well I've done it several times on UA awards which have two different PNRs so it should be possible.
The issue will be CUZ potentially having staff that have no idea what you're talking about.
Although that reminds me.....I think one has to pick up domestic baggage at LIM regardless. If you're on time shouldn't be a problem at all, copa never has lines in my experiences at LIM

I will be doing the same 2 hour AV domestic (from CUZ) to CM international connection in LIM, unfortunately on separate tickets.
Can anyone confirm if AV would be happy to tag my bags to PTY and if my bags will be transferred in LIM?
