Anbody Been to the Mergui Islands?

Saw these on the map. Anything there? Hotels? Transportation?

A simple Google search "Mergui Islands" turned up this NYT article from 2012 about the islands.

Reviving this since hoping to go there this January. It has opened up a bit since the 2012 article, but is still nicely rather off the beaten track (though seems may get some out-of-control development far too soon ).

The one nonbackpacker hotel (Myanmar Andaman Resort) is closed for renovation this year, so only option is liveaboard yachts. We're thinking of of taking MV Sea Gipsy, at the end of our Burma trip.

1) Anyone know this ship or Moby Dick Travels, the Myanmar agency running it? There's a positive mention of it in a 2013 NY Times article, but can't find any online reviews.

2) Anyone else interested? We hope to go January 19-23, but they need 2 more people to sign up to meet the trip minimum.

Thanks!
