Riding the subway in Buenos Aires
What's the scoop with riding the "subte" in Buenos Aires these days?
I read recently that they were doing away with the paper tickets, apparently the locals use a contactless card. What about tourists?
Thanks!

Tourists will need one too. Your best bet is to ask your hotel concierge where you can get one.

Or you can check ahead of time to see what will be near your address:
https://www.sube.gob.ar/mapasSUBE.aspx?id=1
We did this and the 2 closest (newsstands) were out of stock, but the 3rd location (a lottery agent) had them.

Easy peasy.

OK, so this worked as advertised. Zero issues.
I wonder if they will eventually do like TfL, and just allow any contactless card to be used, rather than just SUBE. I've no idea how common contactless cards are in AR, though.
