Amtrak New CC
20k pt for $79/annual fee
12k pt for no annual fee
It seems to me the no annual pts deal is better. Do others agree?

Depends on the individual. The round-trip coach companion ticket is worth more than $79 to me by itself; the additional points (3x for Amtrak, 2x for some other travel, and the 8000 extra at signup post-$1000-spend) is a nice bonus.

Also, the annual fee version earns you up to 4000 Tier Qualifying Points, based on annual spend.
