Cashing a personal check privileges
Will a foreign Amex office permit writing personal check and getting either cash (local currency) and/or t-checks? I called Amex and no one could give me answer....decades ago, for gold card, $5000/month limit.

Emergency Check Cashing Privileges
With emergency check cashing privileges, you can cash a check and get up to $1,000 per Card. Just visit one of the 2,200 American Express Travel Services locations worldwide. Comprises Travel and Foreign Exchange locations of American Express. Not all services are available at all locations and are subject to local laws and cash availability.

Limit is probably higher for Gold or Platinum, but I did not look.

Many thanks. I went to my account benefits, did a search and found 4 locations in Bangkok. But none of them can confirm this service on the website. And nothing regarding limits, etc.
