Convert the 70,000 MR Points to 70,000 Hawaiian Airlines Miles...

then convert the 70,000 HA miles to Hilton Honors for 140,000 HHonors points...

then apply for a free Hilton Honors Platinum Amex Card and get 10,000 more free Hilton Honors Points...

With the now 150,000 points - you can get 6 free nights at any Hilton Level 5 or lower as a Silver VIP!

or there is the tacky thermometer!

Try to get another 5K and convert your miles to CO or DL (or wait till the bonus period)

I just did. BusinessFirst, 767-400 non stop EWR-HNL.
11 hours from Newark to Hawaii. 9 hours or so coming back.

Best trip of my life. Especially in January.

CO btw is stingy with freebie tickets, DL is easier but CO has a better Biz class product, IMHO.

There are only two Hiltons in Rome, the Cavalieri and the Airport Hilton. The Cav is a level 6, and the airport is a 5.

We stayed at both last month. The Cav is absolutely out of this world; award space is difficult, especially if you're not a Hilton Diamond.

The airport Hilton is fine, just not in the same league as the Cav. Very good for catching an early flight out of FCO.

I have no info on Florence.

A level 6 would take another 25,000 point or 175,000 total for the 6 free nights.

See the details at:

How does this happen? I looked on HA's website and could not find anything on converting HA miles to HH points at a 1:2 conversion rate

The conversion is on the Hilton side of the transaction.

5000 HA Miles convert to 10000 HHonors Points per:

So does anyone ever buy stuff from the amex catalog they always send in the mail? or is everyone going for the 1:1 airfare and 2:1 hotel deals?

When you get 80k- that will get you from the US to AU in coach via CO's onepass program. About a 1400.00 ticket normally....

update

i just want to get rid of these points since they're not really doing anything for me. i thought about rome/florence (leaving at the end of the month), but the time period is too short for the hotel. I may try Paris for late summer.
