AMEX Plat (USA) supplementary card renewal fees not billed.

I recently renewed my AMEX Plat card with a 40,000 MR bonus offer. I also renewed an extra card (just one). AMEX has not yet charge me for the extra card fee, and the card has been through two billing cycles since renewal. Has anyone else has this experience?

Thanks, John

When you originally added the supplementary Platinum card did American Express bill $175 or did they bill a reduced amount?

Additional Card Billing

Yes, the card was added at the time the mother card was acquired, and AMEX billed the full $450 for the mother card plus $175 for the child card at that time (the first bill when I acquired the card).

If the Basic and Supplementary cards were issued at the same time, and the fees billed at the same time, the renewal fees should be billed on the same cycle. It sounds as if it is simply a mistake.

I have three extra cards on my personal Amex Platinum.

Paid the $175 in the first year, but not in the two since.

Out of interest, did they offer that renewal bonus, or did you ask?

Additional User Fee - Platinum Card

Is the additional user fee a one time charge or an annual fee?

Don't forget if your additional card holders use the Priority Pass and the TSA Global Entry registration benefits, it is an exceptional benefit that you receive three additional cards for the $175 annual price in the U.S. market.

Don't overlook the site for the card as a resource. It has such info on it.

Annual Fee
The annual fee for the Platinum Card is $450. For up to three Additional Platinum Cards, the total annual fee is $175. Each Additional Platinum Card after the first three Cards is $175.
If you are eligible for the Morgan Stanley Platinum there is no AF for the first additional card.

They haven't charged me for it the past two years, only my initial year. That's why I asked. I was debating asking for a retention bonus and noticed that I hadn't been charged so I figured it's best to keep quiet about it and take my unnoticed benefit.

Thanks. I know what the site says, but see my other reply for why I asked.

I have merged your thread with another on the same circumstance. Suggest that you scroll back and read the older posts which also discuss retention.

Thank you, I had a hard time finding this issue with a search.
