Any idea on what kind of spending is required to qualify?

It's by invitation only, according to this news article (in Traditional Chinese. Try Google translator, if you don't read Chinese). Amex will start with 100 invitees, selected from existing Amex Platinum Cardmembers in Taiwan.

The targeted invitees are supposed to have more than $200K (NTD$6500K) annual income. Amex chooses Taiwan to be the 4th Asia country to issue Centurion because of spending capacity in those wealthy Taiwanese.

Currently in Asia, Centurion is issued only in HK, Japan, and Singapore.

The Taiwanese Centurion Card members will receive two Centurion cards (one for business and one for personal), two additional Centurion Cards and four additional Platinum cards for the the family members! All for the price of NT$160,000 (US$5,000) annual fee! I'm already on their inviting list. They will call me regarding the waive of my initiation fee since I already have the U.S. Centurion card!

sounds really like a summer special offer

When you write "one for business", I guess that you mean the 2nd personal card (A.C card) of the main cardholder.

Can you share with us the benefits of the most expensive Centurion? Thanks.

I am hearing CX Diamond, Hilton Diamond, IH Platinum and SPG Platinum.

Would like to see what else are in the benefit list.

If you read Chinese but can't wait, here's a table of benefits for these 3 "privilege" cards: Taiwan Edition -- (Centurion) Amex vs. (Unlimited) Visa vs. (World) MasterCard

3715 should be able to fill you in with the real inside scoop when his Centurion package arrives.

Hi 3715. I received a call from Taiwan Amex today asking me to provide income proof for them to submit to the "International Centurion Card Application" center". They will then review the document and decide whether to extend me the invitation or not.

This sounds really weird...Did they ask you for that, 3715?

Thanks, seen that...but too vague....need more specific info. Let's wait for 3715's good news.

It would be very significant if SPG plat is avaialable to Taiwan Centurions - the fact that its "from 2011" raises the possibilty that its returning to other markets/all markets. Having sad that, the local Centurion cost is double what we're paying in the UK and US so maybe not. Cathay Diamond is Oneworld Emerald as I understand it (like BA Gold) which is huge...

Heard from the AMEX customer representative.

Annual Fee NTD $160000 (around USD $5000) and another one-time entrance fee NTD $160000 (I'm not sure if this one-time fee could be waived ).

Benefits like hotel club members, reduced fee for Gold Clubs, local dining discounts, Airline elite status, fast pass in some airports...

The representative "encourage" me to spend more on my current Plat. and they may invite me when my annual expense hit the "value" (which was not specified in the call). And she mentioned that in some other countries the value would be USD $200000.
