AA Booking on Westjet--Boarding Passes?

AA Booking on Westjet--Boarding Passes?
Flying LAX-LAS on AA and connecting to a LAS-YYC flight on WestJet. I booked the flight on AA's website. Will I get boarding passes for both flights once I check in for my LAX-LAS flight? Or will I need to check in with WestJet separately?

More often than not I've gotten boarding passes for both AA and WS flights on check-in for my AA flight. (I've done PHX-LAS-YYC a number of times)
Though I do check in on the WS website separately 24 hours before the WS departure in order to pick a seat on that flight. The AA PNR works on the WestJet site at check-in.
