Dep: ZRH on AA stock, segment 1 BA to LHR. Checkin Desk?

I have booked the following (all on AA.com) and was wondering where I actually should checkin when arriving ZRH?

ZRH - LHR (BA) then LHR - DFW (AA)

Both BA and AA are represented at ZRH as AA has direct flights to the US from ZRH and obviously BA has direct flights to LHR.

Is it BA as the first segment is operated by BA?

You always check in with the operating carrier for the flight you're about to take - in this case BA.

You'll check in with BA in Zurich. At Heathrow you'll need to change terminals. At T3 once through the transit security there is an American Airlines desk where you will answer the security questions and they may issue you a new BP (BA probably have you one already, but they always give me a new one). If you miss this then you will have to do it at the gate.

And they don't really even let you past that obnoxious white room without getting a new BP anymore.

I had similar situations in the past: ZRH-(BA)-LHR-(AA)-JFK.
I got my BA bp in ZRH (I may even have used a kiosk), at the gate for ZRH-LHR, they printed my LHR-JFK bp; at the transfer desk in LHR, they re-printed a new AA bp.
AA has limited operations at ZRH (JFK, PHL) are gone by 11 AM--so are the agents. BA has extensive ground people most of the day.

Thanks for all your answers...

So, I now need a new BP for the AA flight LHR-DFW (and DFW-SCL I guess) regardless of what they hand me over at ZRH by queuing at the AA transfer desk (T5 or T3)?

I guess the BA BP's will allow me for Fast Track at T5/T3 (we're in J)...

We have 90 min for the T5-T3 transfer (on a Thursday before noon) which I guess should be OK?

90 minutes will not likely leave you with a lot of lounge / loiter time.

90 minutes is very "tight" for T5 to T3 connections: lots of walking, shuttle bus transfer, security check (be careful about stuff to be placed in baggies, they are fussy about such things.)
