Are you on AA or BA? What's your connection time? I recommend the E Terminal premium lounge on account of its drinkable champagne (Tattinger - none of the other ACs have real champagne) and open, self-pour bar. It has many windows and a nice "sunroom" of sorts. There are also some semi-decent food choices, though better food will be offered onboard if you're in F or J. The E lounge is quite a hike from the AA flights, but close to the BA flights.
The other two ACs are good enough for a shorter layover. You'll get drink chits as a OW Sapphire. Just don't count on any substantial dining choices, unless you wish to purchase a light sandwich or salad.

Are the AC being renovated? I'd like to experience a new AC lounge at some point.

The AC at gate D15 has been finished, and is much nicer than it was; the larger AC at D30 is under renovation, with a wall hiding the work from view. D15 is a hike from E, but if you have the time, interest, and energy, it's a good example of the "new" AC design.

The first half that was probably closed when you were there last has been completed. Nice new bar and self-service food area, plus new work cubbies.
Now the other half is walled off and being worked on. In addition, the main restrooms are being renovated, so only the secondary restrooms near the shower rooms are available. This can sometimes mean you have to wait in line to use them.
Also note that 2 of the 4 elevators are blocked off, so getting up and down can take a few more minutes too.
So it's a little chaotic right now, but will be nice when done.
The new lounge in L is still a "best kept secret" - not nearly as much traffic.

I asked the staff at the entrance last weekend about the status of the new Flagship lounge and was told November 2017.

I'm flying in on 4/10 and out on 4/17. Opening will undoubtedly be 4/18. Mark your calendars. At least it'll be there when I head back in August. Tired of looking at that taunting wall.
