Access changes from AA
  • Flagship Lounge access AA: Starting in mid 2017, Flagship Lounge access is extended to customers booked in Business and First Class on A321T three class transcon, Trans-Atlantic, Trans-Pacific and deep South American flights, as well as EXP/EMD, PPRO & PLAT/SAP on qualifying flights in any class of service.

See and discuss in Expanded Access to Flagship Lounge Coming "in Spring 2017"

  • Flagship First Dining access: First Class customers on American’s 3-class international and transcontinental flights will have exclusive access to FlagshipSM Dining in 2017.

(This has put Flagship Dining into a category similar to the BA Concorde Room and a few other lounges - not oneworld lounges, restricted to long haul Flagship (three class) First passengers on AA marketed and operated flights only.)

  • Admirals Club access: No announced or predicted access changes.
However, thirty day memberships are no longer available as of 25 Jul 2016, and One Day Pass cost has increased to $59. Annual Club memberships increased in price in 2016.

Does this mean we can access the SkyClub with AC membership? Or, is the SkyClub getting converted into an AC?

Will be sweet to have access to a club in T5 with the AA gate and the shuttle stop to the Eagle terminal move.

According to this, the SkyClub will be closed and renovated/converted into an AC: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.c...erminal-5-lax/

This morning the outer construction area door was open and I could see the exterior wall and open area into the club. Two reception desks were right inside and I saw other lounge furniture off to the right so looks like it may be - finally - getting close. Since I'm now based in MCO, I'' ready and wondering if there will be any grand opening celebration...

Converted. Delta is leaving T5 and getting a brand new facility on the other side of the airport.

Compared to the Flagship / First Class Lounges at JFK and ORD the dining room at DFW really lags. I think it being called a "dining" lounge it would have a better selection of food and beverages. The beverages are not self service and hidden away so I don't even know what they have. The hot food opitons consist of two soups and one entree. Overall it's not a comfortable room and with meager food opitons it's not really worth the time. One I was here about a year ago it seemed to be much better (self service beer, wine, bottled water and more food).

Just there last night. There were definitely a few people with flights at other Concourses there. Also flight to Lima departed out of A, thus AA is letting it pour.

BTW There was an issue in men's bathroom. Went to wash my hands and noticed there was an uncovered electrical box right next to the sink. Obviously is supposed to have a face plate, but was forgotten about. One could easily touch the waters and/or get water in the box. Surprised someone (especially a child) hasn't electrocuted their self.

ORD Admirals Club L concourse still serve complimentary non-well drinks?

Has anyone been to Concourse L AC recently? Are they still serving all alcohol complimentary due to H/K construction? TIA.

Apologize if this has been asked already but does anyone know when the Houston (IAH) Admirals Club will open?

I wonder if this is a function of too many people coming in and out for "premium" beverages (champagne, etc.) while sitting in the main AC? It's been a while since I've been through DFW, but I know the last time I was there the door dragon and server inside seemed to get tired of my in-and-out...

You could be right... but, IMHO, it is 'courteous' when finished eating to clear out so others can sit and eat. (And I have no problem coming and going for a drink. Lady at the door didn't seem to mind.)

Are you on AA or BA? What's your connection time? I recommend the E Terminal premium lounge on account of its drinkable champagne (Tattinger - none of the other ACs have real champagne) and open, self-pour bar. It has many windows and a nice "sunroom" of sorts. There are also some semi-decent food choices, though better food will be offered onboard if you're in F or J. The E lounge is quite a hike from the AA flights, but close to the BA flights.

The other two ACs are good enough for a shorter layover. You'll get drink chits as a OW Sapphire. Just don't count on any substantial dining choices, unless you wish to purchase a light sandwich or salad.
