Film broken on AA IFE: Sound problem on AA's copy of Kubrick's "2001"

One of the films found on in in-flight entertainment system on the A321T is Stanley Kubrick's "2001". Unfortunately, the copy stored there is broken and unwatchable - the sound track runs about two or three minutes *ahead* of the picture (the climax of the opening "Also Sprach Zarthustra" should happen during the earthrise sequence, not long before it).

I've seen this happen on multiple flights, in Business and Coach, reported this a couple times, got miles as compensation, but it's still broken.

Anyone know of a better feedback path?

Look Dave, I can see you're really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

Have you gotten more compensation miles each time you've reported this? If so, that would be the news, that we can all try watching this for a few minutes on each flight (with AVOD) and report it and all get bonus miles on each such flight!

And, btw, if they find they're giving out bonus miles to lots of people for the same movie problem over and over, that may get it fixed much faster than the same person re-reporting it.

So I suggest you get some blogger to write this up as a miles-earning opportunity, and then maybe it'll get fixed a while after that.

Of course, the cynic in me knows how they'll fix it: They'll simply remove 2001 for the playlist.

I reported it to flight attendants a bunch of times, and then to the website in December (got 2k miles) and just now (haven't heard back yet).

Pity. That's one of my all-time favorite movies.

I'm sorry, Dave.

Dave's reply

I was just in contact with THE HAL; to OP: The IFE ALWAYS works perfectly, especially on the A320--so you must be imagining the flaws you perceived...a short stroll outside the plane (at 32,000 ft) will correct your visual and hearing problems.

I know your AAccount appears incorrect to you, Dave, but I am incapable of error.
