Suggestions for reward booking from SEA-ZRH

Hi - I'd like to fly a friend and his wife from SEA-ZRH, round trip. Desired dates are 5/10-5/24, give or take a few days.

Going there, I see good availability of this ticket:

7:15AM-3:45PM, SEA-JFK
5:50PM-7:55AM, JFK-ZRH

for 20K miles.

But returning I'm not seeing anything worthwhile.

(just this on the 23rd for 30K miles)
10:10AM-1:05PM ZRH-JFK
5:29PM-8:35PM JFK-SAN
6:30AM-9:30AM SAN-SEA

These are found through the AA website.

my suggestion is to book when the award is available which is now or at least put it on hold.......i believe that you have the cheapest for the dates....also, if a better sked becomes available, there is no redeposit fee as long as the end points stay the same....

Yeah I think I'm going to purchase the SEA-ZRH one way tickets soon. But the return is terrible.

Are my miles good for any other airline that flies to ZRH?

BA has availability on 5/24 for ZRH-xLHR-YVR, then AA could tack on the AS segment down to SEA. Nothing available on the LHR-SEA nonstop, unfortunately.

You'll have to pay BA fuel surcharges, unfortunately, probably in the range of US$200-300 for the pleasure.

Interesting - that doesn't sound much better but it's good to know of another option.

also, bcn [barcelona] may be doable w/ib in addition to mad.....so call aa...

note that you could put the outbound on hold, but might have to get some info from friends....not a prob if you have discussed it w/them...

edit...ps when you call, ask about partner awards rather than ib...there or other carriers that might be available...
