Record Locator AA, PNR x2 BA/AY???
Quick question concerning Record locator and AY/BA?
I made a booking in J (GVA-LHR-MIA-EZE) return through aa.com and got a record locator. I hold a AY gold card...
So, when I log onto my AY account I have two different PNR's which are both copies of the original booking.
Booking PNR I: All seats have been chosen as per our wish and fed int the AA Record locator.
Booking PNR II: All seats are located randomly but are not reflected in the AA booking PNR (record locator).
Booking PNR I do not allow for choice of meal with BA through BA.com from LHR to MIA but PNR II does.
Now, I have not touched anything in PNR II as it seems like it's a shadow of PNR I tat doesn't update as one would expect it to do...
Is there anything I need to do so I don't end up with any other seats than what I initially booked/reserved? I don't really care about the meal selection and I believe the AA booking is the key here (right?) as all is feed correctly from PNR I in to the AA record locator code...?

Truthfully I would trust the site of the operating airline. AA will "request" the seats you want. That does not mean the operating airline grants them. Seat feedback to AA is infrequent.
Moral of the story, I'd login to BA and confirm your BA seats there and AA to confirm your AA seats there. Ideal? No. Reality? Yes.
