Sitting on 2352 to ORD on Tarmac. It's pouring. Lots of planes waiting. Ramps back to terminal are closed as well.

News reporting that passengers are being directed to the shelters (which - no joke - I believe are mostly restrooms).

The airport just sent out this tweet to passengers: "If you are inside one of our terminals, please seek shelter in one of the designated storm areas."

Yes the restrooms are the shelters. There are so many things one could say about this.

There's a ground stop as well: http://www.fly.faa.gov/ois/
There was a ground delay program already in place, and am sure it will get revised once the ground stop is lifted.

Restrooms are a good place to be - generally no huge windows in the restrooms (recall all the windows blown out at STL last year).

No windows and interior part of the building - generally one of the better places to be.
