A question was asked in the http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...-2015-a-8.html thread:

For example, when booking a flight and seeing 737, I know it's LAA metal and what to expect. Same for 320 being LUS. But if I see 319, I need to look at the FC cabin to see if there are 8 vs 12 seats to know which legacy aircraft I am getting (more seats or seat-back IFE, etc). And of course, for some aircraft it won't matter...CRJ, I'm looking at you!
My reply said "no", but here's a thread that might be of use to all us "mergees". But here's the deal: I'm not going to be the single person to do the work, given I'm a volunteer, don't know as much as some others here from both AA and US sides of the hangar, and certainly do not know every aircraft or nuance.

I will try to add various thread links about various aircraft from both fleets, and I will (hopefully not alone) agree to work on the wiki.

So: I'm going to attempt some FlyerTalk crowdsourcing here. It's not much different than the generous sharing that has occurred here on FlyerTalk for years, it's just a broader overall scope than a single thread on an aircraft and its seat types.

If you feel so inclined, the water's fine. Jump on in with expansion or corrections to the wiki (you need to be a signed in member with 90 days and 90 posts on FlyerTalk), post your information, add fleet numbers if you will, add what's coming in the hardware department, and we can get this done to the point October 17 2015 we can have a common aircraft fleet resource.

If you know the tail # of your aircraft, this site can be very helpful in checking IFE, power, livery, etc. It's 'unofficial' but is fairly well maintained and accurate.

https://sites.google.com/site/newamericanfleet/home

Now if only AA's mobile app or flight status lookup displayed as much detail as UA's...
