List of aa.com-accepted non-US credit cards and phone ticketing fees out of USA

Since AA does not accept non-US credit cards over the phone, the only option is to contact a non-US AA reservation office. Interestingly, phone ticketing fees are different by country and the cheapest reservation office seems to be the UK.

UK: 15 GBP

Unless it has dropped recently, the UK booking fee is at least GBP15 rather than GBP5

IIRC, AA has allowed this for Elite members only. So unless that has changed recently (which maybe it has), the OP should be able to do this since he's Gold. Maybe the OP should call again and/or ask for a supervisor.

Finally catching up to the times. I actually was shocked to see so many variances with different countries when it comes to technology. Im in the Uk now, most ATM machines don't accept deposits, at least w Barclays. Glad AA is taking most now.

Great minds think alike, or close to it! 3544quebec and dmdflyer, this is great information for those travelling or ex-USA or using non-US credit cards. We've taken the liberty of merging this into one thread for member ease of access, and will be adding links to gateway threads. Thanks for the compilation and sharing it with us!

Please post if you experience being able to use a European (or other previously prohibited) credit card online to purchase a ticket sold in Canadian dollars; the inability to do this has been a real PITA for some. I called and was told that this could now be done, but I am not sure that the agent understood about the Canadian dollar part. TIA

AA not accepting NON US credit card on award booking

Anyone have this issue recently? I was told that I need to have a credit card that has us billing address to pay for the tax and fees?

Book one fine with my Aussie AMEX last month though.

Does this make any difference as we booking this over the phone? Most likely I have to change the postal address to US as well.

Same fees in GBP? As the aussie AA office want to charge AU$70 for ticketing instead of US$25.

What difference are you talking about? If aa.com has a version for the country of your card, you won't have to change the address of the card.

The issue is when calling up AA USA, rep told me they won't accept any non-us issued CC.(Which they did accpet it last month on my aussie issued AMEX). AA US charges $25 + tax, AA Australia want to charge AU$60 + tax. (I know it's only $40, but every dollar counts )

QF+CX booking needs to be done over the phone, can't do that online.
