77W on MIA-LHR eff 01 JAN 14
One of two Miami-Heathrow flights is now showing a 777-300ER starting 01-January-2014. This is AA 56/57.
AA 56 MIA 1905-0840+1 LHR 77W Daily
AA 57 LHR 1105-1600 MIA 77W Daily
As of now, the equipment is only showing until 07-Jan-2014, but keep in mind AA has not loaded equipment schedules past that date, so it is likely/possible that this change is for more than just one week.

I'm very surprised...I didn't hear the news today. Is that 1-week only? It was very short time. Is that only for New Year?

Would have expected ORD-LHR First
take it this comes as a result of additional Aircraft?

Bummer. I wish these 77Ws would be deployed to just about anyplace else besides LHR.

Damn. Was hoping for AA 78/79 to go back to 77W permanently.

LHR is obviously a premium market for USA-Europe flights. What other cities in Europe could support a true 3 class service year round? What about seasonally?

Maybe ORD-LHR will come later down the line?
ORD would have got more business travel though, maybe, thus using First more? Or am i completely wrong? (I'm better with aviation than types of person on their travels )

BA runs J-cabin lie-flat seats out of LHR, and I'm sure now that they're codesharing and sharing revenues

They have to.
BA runs J-cabin lie-flat seats out of LHR, and I'm sure now that they're codesharing and sharing revenues AA is realizing just how much their sloped seats are hurting the bottom line. Yet another idiotic decision of the 00s race-to-the-commoditization-bottom beancounter era.

Agreed. The LHR market is not really about the occasional paid F passenger (we've come to accept that most F seats are filled with awards, upgrades, and non-revs). Instead, LHR routes are all about the paid J passenger--the bread and butter of the JBA!!! As far as AA/BA/IB are concerned, competition for paid J customers in key nonstop US-LHR markets is beyond cutthroat; it is lethal. The product simply MUST meet certain expectations or customers will defect. AA is far behind the curve with the 772 fleet. Therefore, it should be a high priority for AA to deploy the incoming 77Ws to LHR service (in particular the most lucrative and competitive, such as NYC-LHR and MIA-LHR), even though these aircraft could be operated on much longer routes--Asia, EZE, etc.
