Booking Premium Economy on AF flight

Booking Premium Economy on AF flight
Im trying to go from LIN-LAX...the flight when booking thru alitalia.com gives a flight that connects thru CDG and AF from CDG-LAX on A380...V fare class I believe. The alitalia website says its premium economy. Does this really book as a premium economy ticket on the AF A380?

There are 2 important consideration - who is the marketing carrier (AZ flight number or AF flight number) and which class.
V class is economy on both AF and AZ. AZ premium economy classes are A and P; Whittle AF premium economy are in A, S, and W.
If you give us the dates and destinations I can check Expertflyer for filed fares on your dates and what the cheapest premium economy costs.

Cool thanks! Going from LIN-LAX on Mar 11,2016. All I know is that it says "premium economy" it looks like V fare class but I can't say for sure and it looks like and AF flight woth AZ code share

These are the prices for return journey - base fares. You need to add the taxes and fuel surcharges on top of these.
Is the fare you are looking at one-way or a return? What is the price you found? Do you have a snap of the page or some more info? I highlighted the one that is most likely the fare you are seeing. The total price if I am correct would come to about £690 and it's definitely an economy fare, alas. The premium economy return fare in A class would be around £850.

Interesting, I just checked one-way fares (full list below) and indeed the cheapest is premium economy P class on AZ (the full fare premium economy in fact) with no AF equivalent fare filed. It should book you into Premium economy on AF flight.
As an aside, you can get it much cheaper if you book a return, Premium-economy out and economy return, all together costing €875, saving you €700 and giving you the option of return at some point - or you can just forget about the return portion and never use it. I attach the ITA matrix below:
