Decent amount of close-in saver Y/F for XXX-JFK on VX

Was seeing it for this week out of SEA. Pretty good value for your miles as an alternative to $$$ if you ask me.

Don't know about other transcon markets, will poke around later. But that is nice.

Looks like lots of availability to SFO/LAX/LAS as well.

IAD->SEA (obviously connecting over SFO/LAX) for 25k on Sat 14, also returning on Sun 22/Mon 23 ... not bad at all

Must have just loaded in the past 24 hours; I've been searching SEA-NYC for a particular date and all the Virgin options just opened up. If I have to make a connection, SEA-LAX-JFK with Virgin beats the heck out of SEA-DTW-LGA with a leg on Republic.

It's January 9th now.

Here's a comparison of two F options on SEA-JFK available 1/12, before we return you to the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth about why AS hates all their elites who've spent years being loyal to MP, and is only showing love to VX elites.

(I wouldn't count on this being there FOREVER, but it's nice to see it now. Like all things frequent flyer where there is arbitrage, sic transit gloria mundi.)

Pity that the timings won't work for my JFK trip on 1/12...

Thanks for the heads up. Converted 2 of my awards to saver F. Hoping AS doesn't start putting AS metal on LAX/SFO-BOS on my October itin (will be nice to have tons of room after my 6 RT transcon MR on VX). Changed one for Febuary as well.

I agree, quite a bit of availability on VX seems to be available. I just wish the awards were treated like AS metal in the sense that we're allowed a free stopover at a connection point like PDX or SEA.

Look on the bright side, if AS does put their own metal on routes out of SFO, those of us flying all those VX mileage runs might actually be on the upgrade list for F or at least Y+ rather than in the back on a VX metal flight.

looked for the avail. Jan 20 to IAD, no dice. However, this would be great if you needed to position comfortably to get to another gateway.

thanks for the heads up. i might grab one to BOS for the fall to check out some autumn colors and microbrews in vermont. of course that is a hard time to peel oneself away from northern CA. maybe a quick trip to south Florida is in order.

exactly ... just haven't convinced my landlord that we could easily get $2000 or so (to split, of course) if he would let me sublet the condo for the week

I think it's my TH's payday? Other than that I'm planning on taking a little walk around D.C. with 150,000 of my friends on the 21st.
