How much time did you have between flights? For me, the end of August shouldn't be that busy...

Seattle's home, so no connection. I'm not sure to what extent AS currently uses these gates but in theory this could affect connection times. Bags hadn't even begun to be unloaded when the first bus pulled away.

Ooh! I actually might short-check a bag on my SEA connection next week in hopes of a BSG.

Ah okay, going down I have a 150 minute wait, but coming back I only have 100 minute wait that makes me a little nervous. Thankfully my gf and I agree on not checking any bags. It's just SEA-ANC, but those N gates I have burning hate for but not as much as the end of the C concourse.

A 100-minute connect is more than enough time for any possible connection, including remote gates, at SEA, and should not be any cause for being nervous.

A 40-minute connect at SEA under normal circumstances is very doable (if you walk briskly), and so adding in 25 minutes for bus transit time means that a 65-minute connect is still quite comfortable. That is still a long ways from 100 minutes, though, so there's no cause for concern, even in the rare instance you were to get assigned a bus gate.

I know your right, I guess I'm actually worried about a delay.

Is AS actually using the bus gates or are they just parking planes over there that aren't in use? I've seen one or two sitting over there at times with no activity around them.

at this point, they are just parking planes there - not boarding or deplaning there

Is AA doing this with any regularity or is it just when their inbounds get clumped up and the gates are all full? I assume the latter.

My wife is arriving on an AA flight at Gate C5 L3. I assume this is a remote bus gate.

C5 L3? Sounds more like a QX gate. Where is the flight coming from?

Interesting. Well, you're right, AA.com shows C5L3 as the arrival gate.

Actually, IIRC, the QX gates are all C2[X], where X is a letter. I'm actually not sure where C5 is--the SeaTac map shows the next gate past C2 and C3 as C10, and C9 is a little further up and opposite. Maybe C5 is some stairway over there somewhere that leads downstairs to a bus loading area, though it's odd because the rest of AA's gates are in D.

The POS website itself shows your flight arriving at D6, too. Odd.

Tonight, it arrived at C5L3, according to FlightAware.

In the evening, AA has more arrivals than gates. Maybe it has jumped on the bus gate bandwagon.
