Earning AS EQM on LAN booked as Qantas codeshare
My wife and I are travelling to Australia in March on the elusive QF/CX business awards. We were planning a trans-Tasman hop to NZ while we were there.
Qantas is selling a AUK-SYD codeshare operated by LAN for about $40 cheaper then through LAN's website in J. I wanted to book through Qantas for better IRROP protection in case the inbound A340 is
delayed/cancelled.
The Qantas flight number assigned, QF322 is ineligible to earn AS miles but the LAN flight 801 is eligible. Am I correct to assume metal is what matters and this flight will still earn miles if I book through Qantas?
