Strange BA-like hand luggage madness
Yesterday, on an AB short haul flight, during boarding, the FA made an announcement that there are new hand luggage rules that only allow storing in the overhead bins luggage with an orange approved cabin baggage tag attached. All the other luggage has to be stored under the seat in front of you, or checked if no space.
This was the first time I heard it. Fortunately, it was really not an forced, so I stored my bag where I wanted, despite not having no damn tag.
Was this a creative FA? Or is it really a new rule? They force well packing business travelers who check in online to sit in a cramped place with luggage underneath, and once-a-year traveler with huge bags get the comfort of storing them in the overhead bin? Seriously? If find this appalling and one of the key reasons to avoid flying on BA, who do it very meticulously. I hope this does not stick on AB ...
Otherwise, does anyone know a good source of orange baggage tags ?

I have noticed an increase of AB stopping people before boarding and handing out these tags. Now that I think about it, I was one four AB flights in the past two weeks and it happened every time. It wasn't enforced though. Due to the recent MADNESS at TXL I am pretty sure people would start rioting if they opened their mouths about it.

Yes, I had it the other day, Monday to be precise, on the DUS-ZRH. I had no idea what this stupidity was all about, had already boarded early and stored my small rucksack above my seat. It was announced twice. I just thought they had gone out of their minds. Then along came a passenger, a stupid foghorn of a woman, trying to enforce it and get others to take down their hand baggage. She didn't bother me (I'd have told her where to go) but she did get two compliant, law abiding Germans to obey her. Incredible.
Just how much worse is the flying experience going to become, do you think? Don't you think they've done enough, the airlines in general, to piss off us regular flyers?
