Interline AB/EY on separate PNRs

Hi there,

I am looking at a flight STR-AUH on AB and then on with EY AUH-Asia on a separate ticket. What is your experience / my chances to check my baggage through in STR all the way to Asia ?

Thanks for your help !
Cheers

Not surprising, considering EY owns 30% of AB.

The existence of the interline has absolutely no bearing on AB's willingness to through check on EY on a separate ticket.

AB has the ability to do so, yes. And they will do so on one ticket. Seeing as they are part of the EY Alliance, that's not surprising.

But they could just as easily decline to through-check on separate tickets if they choose to do so.

Hence the "MAY" part

Was able to interline baggage onto a separate EY ticket when flying from TXL to AUH in August 2014. Presented my baggage tag and boarding pass at the info desk in AUH terminal one to ensure it was being transferred.
