Oneworld lounge access with a AB/AZ codeshare?

I have oneworld Sapphire status (BA Silver) and will be flying on 2nd January from LIN to VIE. The flight is on Alitalia metal, but was booked with Airberlin. This seems to be a new codeshare between AB and AZ.

I know that the oneworld rules state that to gain lounge access the flight has to be marketed and operated by a oneworld airline, but I don't know if there is some special agreement between the 2 airlines involved.

I would like to know if anybody has been able to gain access to a oneworld lounge with a AB ticketed flight on AZ metal?

No access to BA lounge if that is what you had in mind.

I would believe that if you booked with AB and the flight number on your BP is an AB number that you will get access to the Lounge in keeping with oneworld policies.

As headingwest pointed out, access is for departing on any flight marketed and operated by any oneworld member airline.

Yes seawolf, I believe you are right. I have now changed the flight to Niki, which as an affiliate to Airberlin will probably allow me access...fingers crossed!

I would still be interested to know if anybody has gained access to the BA lounge on a AB/AZ ticket. Please let us know here if you have.

Hello,
I have a similar question and maybe you could help me sort it out.

I'am Airberlin Topbonus Gold and will flight from:
Milan Malpensa to AUH flight operated by Alitalia & issued on Alitalia stock

then from

AUH to SIN flight operated by Etihad & issued on Alitalia stock.

Do you know if I will be granted access to Alitalia lounge in Milan Malpensa & Etihad Lounge in AUH with my Airberlin status?

Thanx

At AUH, most definitely - At Abu Dhabi airport topbonus Gold Card holders can only access the The "Al Reem" Lounge at Terminal 1.

I don't know about the AB/AZ relationship - it's fairly new due to the Etihad stake in AZ. You may have to do some research about this and if can't find anything, you can either call topbonus or AZ directly and find out.

On the other hand AB policy says you need to have AB or oneworld ticket to enter the lounge, it is in contradiction to what oneworld says
I wanted to go to asia on AB number but partly EY operated fly, would I be able to access a CX or QF lounge on my way back?
