Flexipay Trial

A friend of mine got this in his inbox yesterday ...

Hello,

We would like to invite you to trial Airpoints™ Flexipay, a new payment method that lets you use a mix of Airpoints Dollars™ and cash.

The Flexipay trial is only available for a few short weeks (and to a limited number of Airpoints members), so if you need to book a flight and don't have enough Airpoints Dollars to cover the full fare, give Flexipay a go and let us know what you think.

You can use Flexipay when booking through airnz.co.nz or our Air New Zealand Contact Centre.

I'd love to hear any feedback you have about your Flexipay experience, so please feel free to email me at [email protected]

Mark Street
GM Loyalty

For more information, see Flexipay Terms and Conditions.

Ts and Cs here.

They have said in the last investor call that Flexipay will be rolled out in the near future.

What's the $APD earning like now? My recollection is that last time this was trialled it was awful, even if you paid mostly with cash.

20% of the APD and SP, so fine if you pay 90% by APD, but otherwise poor.

^ Why even bother? I understand the benefits but taking a 10%~ hit on your APD spend I can't really see this being that useful, domestically at least.

great feature for Jade members that fly 3 times a year though as you would never have enough APD for a flight that way.
