New Safety Video

This is explains why the Bluetooth change was effective from Today, noticed that mentioned that 'Wifi isn't available on this aircarft' so they must be pretty close to have it live on some of the fleet.

I'm guessing this is an online version, as there is no mention of exits!

Yet again an another video longer than the taxi in ZQN,WLG,DUD

Hey that's the lizard guy on The X-files.

Obviously this is not targeted at us down under. They try really hard to tell Americans that they can fly them to Australia.

That's a new one... I would've thought people's initial response would be "Hey, that's the manager guy from Flight of the Conchords!"

Or for us Kiwis... "Hey, that's the (annoying) guy from all those 2 Degrees ads!"

As far as the video goes... way too long, way to trying... out of all the recent versions I'd say "Safety in Paradise" is much better done and polished.

In fact I'd rather the Richard Simmons one over this... at least THAT one has the "shock value" to make you actually pay attention to the safety messages... YMMV

At least with the addition of Bluetooth, we will never have to see the MIB one any more. That is most probably a bigger win than Bluetooth on the plane.

Maybe I should be happy my next flight is on VA then

With the Domesitc A320s flights, why can't they do the same 45second verbal that the ATR's have?

I'm glad NZ operated to have the 72-600s delivered without the TV option.

I once had a China Eastern domestic flight where they simply skipped the safety video. When questioning a flight attendant after take-off, she said they had no time to play it. I hope the NZ pilots wouldn't intentionally slow down taxiing for the video to finish playing, would they?

Watched it once here and regretted it. It's far too long, spends too much time on non-safety stuff and makes me long for the return of most of the previous ones, maybe even the Richard Simmons one!

Thanks for pointing that out it took me twice to watch it to notice that part, must have been to distracted by eveything else in it.
