I guess this is for people using the Kiosks to check in as they will no longer have to talk to someone to get a card.

Is this only available to Gold Elite ? As I have never had anything being Star Gold - when I flew Qantas they gave me express pass for being one world gold

I believe it is for Gold too. But definitely Elite. Departures seems to have this bit not for arrivals into AU

I've never once used an express pass and now have a nice stash of them here, but I'm guessing that depends a lot on the time of the day you're travelling.

Depends, if there are big flights in from China or UAE it is sometimes useful to have express. I always use express when departing

Lucky for some! Haha 10 more months and I can get a NZ passport. Traveling on a European passport they make a HUGE difference during peak hour.
