Qantas Status Matching Snail Mail
Just wondering if anyone else got one of these in the mail, I'm the lowest tier on Qantas and barely fly them except when I need to go to places domestically in AU I can't get to on Virgin, but they sent me flyer via snail mail inviting me to status match with them providing I'm Gold or above.
This was the URL in the invitation:
http://www.qantas.com.au/nzgold/
Anyway, unsure if this should be posted here or on the qantas forum, but I thought it was interesting to receive it, never having done so before from Qantas. Curious if many others got them and how targeted it is.

Will be interesting to see how many Elite vs Gold they accept.

Ok long time lurker, first time caller, so be gentle.
Does the acceptance of the status match by QANTAS rescind your existing status, my case NZ*G? Didn't see anything in the T&Cs.
If not then it seems to be a no brainer to apply.

No it doesn't- you can have status with as many FFP as you want. Nothing to do with NZ.

Thanks for the heads-up, quite useful to have OW Sapphire status as well.
Would be interesting to see how long they'll status match for. Beside the NZ card I've put my phone in the shot as well, showing the NZ App along with "Retains Gold until August 2016" on screen.
Seeing as my QF membership year starts at October and in the Gold match offer T&C:
Hopefully that means till my QF membership anniversary date, which would be October 2016 (I know, wishful thinking).

Upon approval, the Member’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account will be updated to Gold Status for a period of at least 12 months. If a Member is already Gold status or above in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program at the time of the application, that Member will be ineligible for this Offer.

If you are matched now, said status would almost certainly be for the rest of your FF "year" and the "year" following.
Aside from gifted status, Qantas don't normally adjust "year" end months.
So Aug 2016 is quite likely should the match be confirmed.

Hmmm... just made gold on Qantas, changed some flights from NZ to them for that reason!
Wonder if they match Elites to Platinum if asked (doubt it somehow!)

Just tried uploading an image of my gold card and it kept saying that incorrect imsage format. I would have thought they accept PDF?

Wow, that was quick!
Applied at 9:30pm last night (Sunday night) and just received an email from Qantas saying I'd been approved for Gold & could begin using it straight away.
Guess I'll have to book a test flight now - never even tried them before!
Now to go and figure out a whole other FF program... sigh. Life's tough huh.
