This is a "hot potato" issue. The airlines forbid it. However, there is no law against it. If the airline finds out about it they will punish you. A lot of these are sold on eBay; however, it would be safer to find a "friend" that would give you a large percentage of it for a ticket. The penalties, especially on award ticket sales, can be harsh. My advice - be careful and be smart!
