YYZ domestic regional - bus required

We'll, this was a real annoyance

Off to YSB this AM. Had a 20 minute bus ride from D4 to the aircraft.

It is parked past the US regional gates .

I would hate to land with a short connection and have to ride the bus in .

Wow - I didn't realize AC uses the bus gates (again?).

We seemed to be the only flight (at the time) heading out there

I'm guessing morning rush hour gate issues but who knows

Hey, be thankful it's not FRA or MUC!

Someone was joking that I'd never take a bus. I told them I took a bus every 2 weeks virtually year round (failed to mention it was at IST).

I'm guess it was to avoid a delay trying to taxi the aircraft from the TB gates to a domestic gates due to a possible late arrival (from US) or a/c swap.

According to the FA, it is a gate issue (not enough)

I've done a ZRH connection with 20 min from wheels down to wheels up, bus both ways and security in the terminal! Made the connection and so did my luggage. Something to be said for Swiss efficiency.

gate agent told me they were using bus gates at yyz during summer months due to not enough gates. be glad your not coming off a long haul onto a bus to terminal 1. They really need a tunnel to the infield terminal to start using it. Ac won't pay for gates and other long haul carriers like ek are paying more for the gates.

Agreed! Tight connections in ZRH have never been a problem for me. I always love connecting at ZRH.

Wow when was the last time AC used bus gate (charters from IFT don't count)?

Was there zone boarding? How was it handled?

No zone boarding

They just called the flight. Loaded up the bus with all PAX.

15-20 minute bus ride later (with no AC) we board the flight
