Can I use Aeroplan miles to upgrade?

YYZ to YVR in October.
Currently booked in cheapest Tango.
Lots of Aeroplan miles available.
Is so, how?
Thanks.

The only scenario where it may make sense is if your employer pays for a Lat fare and you have no other means to upgrade.

Not really. If you are buying a B or Y fare for the purposes of upgrade you may as well pay for P or Z or an award ticket in I space. Aeroplan upgrades are useless on Air Canada.

OP booked Tango. So answer is a flat no.

Throw out your Tango ticket, and book a business seat outright with your "lots of AE miles". Problem solved.

For October? What would availability be if no IKK? Maybe with an overnight in Regina or Winnipeg?

Don't know OP's dates, but I see widebody nonstops on Oct 2 and 26, and plenty more Airbii options on other dates.
