Earning AQM/AQS and AQD on non - *A partners
Ok, before you accuse me of being crazy, hear me out.
At first, I thought it was not possible, but someone who has been in touch with Aeroplan regarding a mileage credit got me thinking.
AC has codeshare agreements with certain airlines that are not *A members. e.g. Jet Airways India https://beta.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco...-partners.html
You can also get Mile and More points with Jet Airways.
Through his twitter feed, Aeroplan has advised this individual you can get a mileage credit with Jet Airways on an AC codeshare.
Questions:
1. I was under the impression you can only get AQM on a *A flight. Can anyone confirm if Aeroplan's statement is, in fact, true?
2. If AQM is possible through a manual credit, then presumably he'd be entitled to AQD as well. However, the AQD rules state otherwise:
Flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada rougeTM. This includes codeshare flights marketed by another airline and operated by Air Canada.
Codeshare flights marketed by Air Canada and operated by Star AllianceTM partner airlines ticketed on Air Canada ticket stock (ticket numbers beginning with “014”).
If #2 is false, then clearly, this is another AC status rip-off.
It would be nice if an official AC rep was on here to confirm, but as we know, this is not possible. Hoping some of you experts out there can provide some insight.
Thanks!
