Thanks for bringing this up. The recent devaluation with AC's world wide booking classes is just disgusting.

Just recently, to get 100% status miles, for the lowest price, I did my best to avoid AC...flew LX, YUL-ZRH-YUL in S class, much cheaper than buying V class on AC.

This might be relevant - as we are flying from YOW to IST and DXB during March. For myself, I will get a paid business class ticket.

So for pure COS bonus reasons, the options are AC, LX, and SN.

For fuel surcharge reasons, the options are LX.

I am not sure if there is a surcharge (paid ticket or Aeroplan (my family will be on Aeroplan tickets) for SN, or not.

Looking at booking a couple of upcoming flights on SN in K class. When I look at the Aeroplan partner details page for SN http://www3.aeroplan.com/earn_miles/...usselsAirlines K class is not mentioned. Am I right to assume that I'd earn no mileage or segments for these flights?

Assuming the worst is always a healthy perspective, you are correct - 0% accrual.

It is tempting to get a Mileage Plus account just to earn 100% mileage when flying on lower fares on UA, LH, LX, SN, etc. rather than the bend over and smile accumulation that AC/AE give us when codesharing with these guys.

Who knows, eventually we might decide life isn't so bad on the other side.

Question: how hard is it to "split" accumulation so that for example the transatlantic portion gets credited to AC but then the intra-Europe connector gets credited to MP. Will LH do it for us in FRA/MUC without then impacting the return transatlantic portion?

You guys are talking about different things.

The original post, and what crimsona is taking about, is crediting Brussels flights to United MileagePlus, where K still earns 100%.

SEMM is talking about crediting UA K fares to Aeroplan.
