Any Safari Lodges I can Use Points/ Miles For
I am in the process of planning a trip to Africa, and I am looking to use hotel reward points or miles for a stay at a safari lodge. I was considering lodges in South Africa, Botswana, etc because we would also like to visit Victoria Falls. However, I would consider Kenya or other areas if I could use points/miles.
I have points in the following programs which I rounded off
AA 640,000 miles
Delta 370,000 miles
Hilton 430,000 pts
Priority Club 252,000 pts
Starwood 126,000 pts
Marriott 54,000 pts
Us Airways 49,000 pts
If Hilton still had Salt Lick, this would have been ideal for me, as I have enough points. I saw that Virgin has an award 375,000 miles for Ulusaba, but I do not have any mileage there. Any way to transfer points without taking a beating?
Are there any hotels near either Kruger or Sabi Sands using points, where we could stay and then do game drives from there? I thought that I remember reading about an Intercontinental near Kruger, but I have not found it when searching.
Any info and suggestions would be appreciated.

Protea Lodges join Marriott in 2015. We stayed at a pleasant Protea Lodge just outside Kruger Gate. We drove into the park from there, and then stayed at a cabin owned by the park.
Protea is a large chain in Africa. It would be worth researching them to determine properties well located for game viewing.

We drove ourselves. We stayed in the park at Sabie Sands. We did a combo of driving ourselves inside Kruger and taking ranger drives. We had a spectacular evening ranger drive and got to see lions kill a warthog. For more details, read this:
