No points for stay after 30 days:(

I stayed recently at Ibis for 60 days at a stretch, but was surprised to see points for only 30 days was credited into my account.(Could have become a platinum member). Called Accor but they shrugged off saying its a rule and if you stay for more than 30 days continuously you can get points only for 30 days. Its like asking the guest to leave after 30 days and asking them to check them back. Its a bizarre rule, and am not going back to them anytime soon

30 days seems to be the standard limit across most brands.

There is also City's zoning bylaws/ordinance which define zoning between hotels and high rise residential and most laws are limited to around 28-30 days. Some jurisdiction also change the stay status form hotel/guest to landlord/tenant after 28-30 days.

Firstly, Intercontinental gives me points if the stay is more than 30 days also(in fact they gave me for 4 consecutive months). So not all groups have that rule.

Secondly, I read the T&C's, I can say that its not clear for sure(By the way I am not worried whether the rule is there are not, but I am against that rule if its there)

When a Member stays at a hotel participating in the Program for a maximum of 30 consecutive nights, including at least one paid night (or day use), and truly staying at the hotel, the Member’s account is credited with Le Club Accorhotels points according to the conditions described in paragraph 7.1.1.

My agony is not whether the rule is there or not, its the with the rule itself if it exists.(You know where this above line was written, somewhere hidden). Now I am staying with Intercontinental instead of Accor beacuse of this rule even though Accor was convenient for me.
