Posting miles flown for 100K and other promo credit

My wife and I have just completed our RTW trip on AA, BA and CX. Following advice on FlyerTalk, we did not input our FF account number(s) during the trip, but saved all tickets and boarding passes for submission now. As I get ready to do this, I have a number of questions. I'll be submitting miles for base miles (actually flown) as well as bonus miles (100K and others) at the same time. I need advice on the best way to do this - because I've got enough flight segments to claim 100K program bonuses on several airlines. Also qualify for AA credit on CX flights. It all comes down to how I submit/claim the miles/bonuses. Should I do this by separate letters - going 1st for base miles actually flown, then for the bonus miles, or should I do it all at once? Do the airlines need the original boarding pass or ticket, or will copies do? Is there any requirement for bonus miles to be credited to the airline I am claiming for the actual mileage? Are there any tricks or things I should be alert for during this process? Flights were flown before 31 Aug so there is no problem with them qualifying for the promos. Thanks very much.

A given flight is credited to one airline for all purposes. That's because each airline bases the continent bonus on flights credited to its program. You can't get flight miles on AA and count the same flight for the continent bonus on CX or whatever.

Hence, it is not necessary - not even desirable - to send in separate letters for a flight, one for each purpose. It's either credited, in which case it's credited for both purposes, or it's not. If you send a second letter for a flight that's already been credited it will be considered a repeat request and will be discarded.

So, figure out where you want each flight for both purposes. Then submit them by whatever means that airline uses for missing credit. Some will want originals (keep a copy), some are happy with copies, some take faxes, and some (AA flights credited to AA come to mind) just need an e-mail with flight and ticket numbers. The process may vary, as it does with AA, depending on whether the flight was with that airline or with a partner. Check with each airline for specifics.

There shouldn't be any tricks involved, but there is potential for error (not likely to be in your favor) so keep records of everything.

Based on other posts, you may see an interim partial bonus on BA as flights are posted. You won't see a thing on AA until the entire bonus is calculated. I don't know about CX in that respect.
