hawiian airlines mileage card
aloha
anyone have any experience with the hawaiian airmiles platinum card?
i just signed up for it at $50 per annum because it advertised giving 10.000 miles to use on hawaiian airlines -- said number happens to be enough for a round-trip interisland coach ticket.
since the cost of the ticket is normally $100, i figured i can't go too wrong by paying $50.
granted, you need a bale of miles to go anyplace outside the islands, but an interisland rt tkt at $50 is not too bad.
any "voices of experience" out there?

I have had the credit card for one year. I've only used it once just to get my round trip inter-island free flight. When you receive your two 5,000 Mahana checks the best thing to do is send them right back and request two one-way open inter-island passes this way your round trip inter-island is easily accesible.

Hawaiian issues Makana checks in 5000 mile increments as soon as your account exceeds a 5000 mile balance. The checks are good for three years from the date of issue.
Last time I used a Makana check for a one-way interisland flight, I simply called Hawaiian to make the reservation and told them I'd be using the Makana check. It was really easy.
