Nice Letter from United Chairman, 2,500 miles
Today's mail brough a gracious letter from James Goodwin, UA's new CEO, in which he acknowledges "drastic delays at Chicago's O'Hare Airport" and the inconvenience that has plagued many flyers who have travelled through UA's largest hub and hometown. He
continues with an assurance that UA is doing everything it can to implement the new ATC systems which are supposed to improve their part of the services and the writes:
"To underscore our commitment to you as a Premier member, and to acknowledge our pledge to improve the experience of all your air travel, we are crediting your Mileage Plus account with 2,500 miles which will also count toward elite status qualification."
That is a very nice gift and, as my good pal Harry the Horse says, "never look a gift horse in the mouth"and I want to thank Mr. Goodwin for it. This is the first time I can recall that a bonus, any kind of bonus, credits to one's elite qualification status,
UA,AA,DL, or anyone.
Another nail in the coffin of those who say UA doesn't care about its customers. No one is perfect and these folks do a pretty good job of at least aiming for the bulls eye.

Yeh, maybe, but I'll withhold judgement until I see what arrives in my mail next week. As noted in another thread on this topic, I'm PremEx and travelled thru ORD almost every week from March - June plus another trip in mid-July. I think it probably galls UA to give me the 2500 miles when that would put me over the top into 1K status.
