I didn't really read the old posts but that is interesting. To MileKing's credit, the airline portion of NYOP really hasn't taken off like the hotels and car rental portion. But still, it is interesting to read years later!

Threads never get "locked" on FT like on some other message forums (Trip Advisor locks threads after 6 months, which is too short IMO). But 13 years is probably too long
what timing. just booked a ticket on Priceline.

More like i was playing around because i didn't want to pay 17,500 miles for roundtrip from ATL to ORD.

Well guess what $135 + $30 taxes = $ 165 Accept. United both way non-stop. Only thing early morning flight and late night return.... fine by me

i need to stop fooling around priceline... sometimes it accpets things i wouldn't think it would accept. The fare listed at $600+ leaving this thursday coming back monday.

I have heard that last-minute flights are the forte of PL NYOP now. But I haven't tried PL for flights in years. Generally I don't have the flexibility to be able to leave almost anytime during the day and return almost any time during the day. I am 2-3 hours from the nearest PL airport. An early morning departure and late evening return means an overnight in both directions and that is just not practical most times.

Epic bump...sweet memories of a simpler era!

I heard that they are throwing in a PanAm round trip with it

I think I heard Eastern Airlines is participating also. Okay, maybe it's not THAT old, but I am!

Seems to me that really good board management software would permit an administrator to "reverse-thumbtack" thread, so that it (1) persists at the bottom of a board, and optionally (2) is immune to flagging as "new" or "unread" by boardmembers. Locking a thread in conjunction with #1 would be a good thing, too, when such ancient stuff is resurrected.

Actually, I've bumped really old threads before. I did one on the Priority Club board a few weeks ago about the value of their points since I know little about the program and am about to earn 160,000 of their points.

The last really good thread about valuation - at least the one that turned up in search - was about five years old. I thought "Should I bump it or start a new one?" The irony was that the guy who started this thread five years ago got barked at for not searching. His was the only thread *I* found when I did, in fact, search. (Maybe older stuff was archived? Maybe my search terms weren't very good?)

Anyway, a little bumpage here and there isn't bad...except for the occasional OMNI prankster who decides to bump 100 threads. That's lame.

Besides, I liked the TWA reset.
