Can one renew expired ticket couchers?

Couple of years ago when I was ill and unable to fly, some of my ticket vouchers/credits which are usually only good for a year are now past their deadline. Can somehow these be renewed? One of them is with Delta-is there anyone to send the request via email?

On your DL ticket, call and ask for the Customer Care dept. They often grant an exception allowing reuse of a nonrefundable ticket for up to two years, especially since you were ill.

Or not. American will honor the voucher with a $75 fee (deduction). Delta told me this week they will not honor outdated vouchers. And I am a medallion member. (
